General Counsel

Adam Kear and his partner, Tony Nuccio, have been splitting their time between Ojai and Los Angeles since 2017 and are in the process of making Ojai their full-time home. Adam recently retired from a 30-year career with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, where he served as assistant general counsel. Adam focused on legal matters concerning Metropolitan’s supplies conveyed through the State Water Project and related issues in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. He successfully litigated Metropolitan cases at the trial and appellate levels and has argued before the California Supreme Court. Adam began his career with Metropolitan in 1990 as an environmental engineer and was manager of facility planning for Metropolitan before transitioning to law. Adam joined Metropolitan following five years in private consulting engineering practice. In addition, he served as a commissioned engineer officer with the United States Public Health Service. Adam is active with community interests and is a board member of a Los Angeles city historic district. Adam and Tony are passionate about native landscapes and when taking a break from working on their own garden, they enjoy running, biking, and hiking through our great outdoors.
