Catherine Sellman has been in the East End of Ojai since 2016. She began her career as an environmental engineer based in Washington D.C. and Colorado. After earning an MBA at UCLA, she pursued a career in asset management. She founded Aperimus Capital in 2008, establishing the Aperimus Funds on behalf of university endowments and family offices. She served as Portfolio Manager through 2021. Her investment interests include turnarounds, special situations, forensic accounting, and disruptive innovation. She served on the boards of the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College and the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, and currently serves as an Independent Advisor to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation’s Investment Committee. She holds a BA in Engineering Sciences from Dartmouth College. Personally, Catherine enjoys capturing the beauty of the Ojai Valley on canvas, researching its edible native flora, and figuring out which creeks in the Sespe never stop running.
